2025 Fall Update Meeting covered recent changes in cooperative resources, IEP documentation and procedures, legislative updates from the 104th general assembly, and school code revisions. This included information on the new IAR Performance Descriptors and cut-scores and review of the drat SEL standards revision. Additionally, updated recommendations for best practice with use of artificial intelligence (AI) for professional practices within schools, how to support threat assessment with MTSS/PBIS teams, and alternatives to the ER to support students in crisis were shared from North Central Behavioral Health Services' Behavioral Heal Urgent Care Clinic. Review of the recent White House announcement on acetaminophen and leucovorin and possible impact on schools was also discussed.

April round table supported Sexual Assault Awareness Month through review of the warning signs of sexual abuse and professional responsibility to support student victims of sexual violence. Special attention was given to new requirements in Article 26 of the school code effective for next school year concerning student expulsions and two guidance resources available from ISBE. Different levels of accessibility supports were reviewed for state assessments and the factors that determine their use for students with IEPs and 504s appropriately. A detailed review of the decision tree for participation in the Illinois Alternative Assessment was provided to identify key factors for student participation. Lastly, participants learned the benefits of multi-factor authentication for logging into assessment systems, reviewed the Farm Family Resource Initiative, the Instagram School Partnership Program benefits, and Invent2Prevent as an opportunity for HS students. School psychologists received preliminary data review of a thesis study by Cole Westmoreland, LEASE School Psychology Intern, to understand factors related to professional burnout and possible protective factors. School Psychologists met 9:00-11:00 A.M. and Social Workers and Counselors met 1:00-3:00 P.M.
