April round table supported Sexual Assault Awareness Month through review of the warning signs of sexual abuse and professional responsibility to support student victims of sexual violence. Special attention was given to new requirements in Article 26 of the school code effective for next school year concerning student expulsions and two guidance resources available from ISBE. Different levels of accessibility supports were reviewed for state assessments and the factors that determine their use for students with IEPs and 504s appropriately. A detailed review of the decision tree for participation in the Illinois Alternative Assessment was provided to identify key factors for student participation. Lastly, participants learned the benefits of multi-factor authentication for logging into assessment systems, reviewed the Farm Family Resource Initiative, the Instagram School Partnership Program benefits, and Invent2Prevent as an opportunity for HS students. School psychologists received preliminary data review of a thesis study by Cole Westmoreland, LEASE School Psychology Intern, to understand factors related to professional burnout and possible protective factors. School Psychologists met 9:00-11:00 A.M. and Social Workers and Counselors met 1:00-3:00 P.M.
